Steve is a senior advisor to corporate boards and CEOs on governance, leadership, and culture. Based in Houston, he advises on CEO and C-suite succession, executive team effectiveness, and board-level leadership strategy for organizations navigating complex strategic change.
Leveraging the firm’s proprietary data and analytics capabilities, Steve helps organizations benchmark their executive teams against evolving market and strategic demands, identifying capability gaps and accelerating development to strengthen performance and succession depth. He works globally with Fortune 500, mid-cap, and emerging growth companies, bringing strategic insight and rigorous assessment to high-stakes leadership decisions.
Steve is a senior member of the firm’s Board & CEO Advisory Partners team and serves on the firm’s Senior Leadership Team as Global Capability Leader, driving innovation and expanding market share across Russell Reynolds Associates’ horizontal practices. He previously served on the firm’s senior leadership team as co-head of Strategy and Excellence and as Global Leader of the Industrial and Natural Resources practice.
Earlier in his career, he was a managing director at the Corporate Executive Board and held roles at Enron Corporation and Koch Industries.
Steve earned his BA from Emory University and his MBA from the University of Florida. He serves on the boards of the Greater Houston Partnership and the Alley Theatre.
